Our Grant Giving

SolidariTee offers grants to individuals and NGOs working right at the heart of the refugee crisis. At present, we are focusing on supporting quailified experts in legal aid and translation services.

Small NGOs are best suited to offer legal aid to overcome this protracted and complicated asylum process, as large aid organisations have become overburdened by the scale of time-urgent needs in the refugee crisis.

In 2018-19, we've been sustaining the entire operational costs of both Mobile Info Team and Fenix Humanitarian Legal Aid.  Read below for more information on our beneficiaries, and how to apply for grants

Fenix Humanitarian Legal Aid

Fenix Humanitarian Legal Aid is an NGO operating in Lesvos. Fenix brings together lawyers, translators, psychologists and community ambassadors to support all facets of the lengthy asylum process on Lesvos.

Within just months of existence, Fenix had managed to provide essential legal services to 1,000 asylum seekers, in the form of walk-in clinical sessions, asylum interview preparation, group information sessions and referrals to further services.

They also have remote research and human rights teams who provide high quality investigative reports on countries of origin and human rights instruments.

Mobile Info Team

The Mobile Info Team (MIT) has supported over 700 asylum cases, representing over 1,500 refugees, and specialising in family reunification. An asylum claim cannot be straightforwardly transferred from one country to another, leaving many family members and unaccompanied minors stranded across several different countries, with the threat of deportation hanging over them.

Thus far, their advocacy has directly resulted in countless positive application decisions for those struggling to navigate the complex asylum process.

One Syrian father commented that his 17 year old son’s application to reunite with him in Germany ‘only worked because of the help of the Mobile Info Team. I really cannot express how grateful I am for what you have done for us.’

Right: MIT caseworkers in action.
